Bobbi has retired after 30 years in the human resources field and Mark has retired after working 32 years for Delta Airlines. They moved back home to Minnesota last fall and keep busy with family and traveling. Bobbi loves being Grandma for her three grandchildren - Frank (6), Gabby (4) and Ingrid (3). "Hi classmates!" Sandy and Gary still live in Woodbury. "Our daughter lives in New Jersey, and our son and family live in New Market. We have two granddaughters, ages 5 and 6. Gary went back to work last year at small company called Head Lites - we make the Hi - Vis vests you see worn by law enforcement and contruction. Don joined the retirement group in February of 1999 after completing 40 years with MnDOT and wife Karen continues her career with the North St. Paul School System. They have four children, five grandchildren and expect another this fall. They range in age from 1 to 10. Don is spending most of his time this summer landscaping their new home in Woodbury. The rest of the time is taken up at family events and at their cabin in Wisconsin. (2001)

Barb is still teaching at the Little Red Schoolhouse after 25 years and enjoys it enough that she is not yet ready to give it up. "George and I have spent the last four years renovating and remodeling our 1875 home. We have enjoyed our work and the rewards outweigh the hard work. We have also been enjoying our perennial gardens and working on the yard. We travel for several months in the winter, mostly to Florida, as our daughter Val and family live there. Her son, Michael graduated this year as valedictorian of a class of over 300. Our children are healthy and the grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren are growing like weeds. We enjoy all of the time we share together and wish the days did not go so fast. I look forward to hearing from those of you that could not make it to our reunion. See you in 2006!" (2001)

Guy and Noreen just moved from Claremont, MN to Joplin, MO where he plans to get more involved in Bluegrass Music. He had his own Bluegrass Band for 8 years and will be in Houston, MN on August 16th and 17th to play the final performance of "Sonny Side Up." Guy retired on Christmas Day of 1997 because of lwer back injury. "If I'd known I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself." (2001)

Walt is retired from the Navy. He has worked as an Explosive Engineer for an explosive company and as a Park Ranger at Kurchner Caverns State Park. He and Roxie have two daughters, Casey and Kellie (Chicci). Killie, the youngest, has a degree in Civil Engineering and is the mother of two. Casey works for Maricopa County Courts as a mediator. UPDATE:  Norman retired from Merrill Lynch October 25, 2002. (2002) Norm is semi-retired from Merrill Lynch working about 2 1/2 days a week. Bill is retired from farming with the sons taking over. He has a summer job driving a tram and narrating at the New WellsFargo Family Farm at the Minnesota Zoo. Their family was named the Dakota County Farm Family of 2000 and the award was presented to them by the Minnesota and Dakota County Extension Service. Carol will be joining her husband in retirement in June of this year after 41 years of teaching English at New Ulm Senior High School. She will miss the kids but hopes to do some substitute teaching.  She is currently president of the Teacher retirement board and is happy to be able to help with the building a of a new space for three of the state funds. "I am learning things about investments I never thought I would know and finding the whole experience good for keeping my brain cells functioning and productive."  Carol hopes to have more time to read, to garden, to work on her antiques and to move her cat.  "I am excited about the idea I can do things 12 months a year rather than trying to concentrate everything into a summer. Lee and Fran are both retired but both work part-time. He had knee surgery in March, has been rehabbing since and will have to wait for a while to resume basketball. Jim has been retired for eleven years and loves it. Sharon will be retiring from the Rosemount Post Office in 18 months. Jim's five (5) children and Sharon's three (3) children have given them 8 grandchildren. Jake Klotzbleacher would get alerted to his calls from the light on the water tower turned on by the hospital staff.  Jake was never the only officer --he worked under Tom Haley in the early 50s then took over the Chief's job. He hired Axel Youngrantz. In 1961 Jake hired me full time and I went back to part time after six months, then back full time in 1967. We didn't get any radios until 1963 and then they were only C.B. radios. We still received our calls by being alerted through the hospital staff. The light on the tower was a problem in summer months as you could not see it because of the leaves on trees, and therefore had to stay close to down town. Incidentally, the Red Lion bar next to Avalon cafe also had a light out side that they would turn on when they had trouble. Part timers in the '50s and 60s where Dale Schmidke, Harold Rice, and Tiny Engelman. There is a lot of history around if a person started to dig. - Red Staats

Margo and Darrell are both retired and enjoying it. They visit their 3 children and 6 grandchildren and spend time at their lake home on Long Lake in WI. They go south for the winter months where Margo is "still trying to learn to play golf". This year they spent time helping their kids remodel and expand their homes in CT, Northfield, and Inver grove Heights.
