Ann (Tutewohl) Guetter
1957 to 1963. I worked at St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company of St. Paul. I married Nick Guetter, Jr. of Wabasso.
1963 to 1964 I worked in Edina at a publishing company until 2 weeks before my first son was born.
1964 to 1975 I was an at home mom, but I also did daycare and I did sewing for two different companies at home.
1975 to 1995 we owned a filling station in Wabasso. We hired very little help until 1987 after our last child graduated. We did have a full time mechanic for 19 years. We had a two bay garage, bulk delivery to home for their furnace oil. We also delivered gas and diesel to farmers. We also had AAA towing. We were called night or day to tow someone. We put in"Hot Stuff Pizza". It is a pizza we made from scratch. I did all the book work for our business. Accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, made a lot of the pizza's, worked the till and pumped gas and diesel. We were a full serve station for many years, then we went self-serve.
In 1995 Nick retired. From 1995 to 1997 I continued working for the company that we sold to. I was to work only daytime hours. Before I knew it I was working evenings and weekends and holidays.
1997. I went across the street and applied at the manufacturing company where they make preschool furniture and toys from birch plywood that we get from overseas. I was hired on the spot and put in charge of buying everything they need for their manufacturing. I said I had to give the other place a notice I was quitting. I told them on a Wed. and I worked through the weekend. Then the next day, a Monday, I started working at Jonti-Craft. I plan to work if all possible for another three years.
I bowl 2 nights a week. Have held every office in the league and the association. Do a little golfing -- was a director for two years. Active in the church in the Catholic Council of Women (CCW) in our parish. I have served as President 2 years, Vice President 2 years, treasurer 2 years, circle co-chairman 1 year, chairman 1 year. In our region CCW I have served as treasurer for 8 years over the 15 parishes in our region.
I'm on the Wabasso Beneficial Society as treasurer for the past 10 years and a director for about the last 15 years. Every year I say when my office is up, I'm not going to take any more office. But I give in and take another office. Sometime because no one else will do it.
Our oldest son Thomas born 11/3/64. Married Kelly on 6/20/87. They have one daughter Kelsey born 7/12/90.
Our next son Robert born 8/5/66. Married Polly 10/8/88. They have 2 sons. Robert born 1/4/92 and Colin born 2/13/96.
Our daughter Pamela born 7/26/69. Married John 9/2/95. They have one daughter Cheyenne born 12/24/96.
