At the Palm Springs airport, Monday March 2, 2009, I observed a distinguished-looking man wearing a golf shirt with an Oregon State University logo.

"Are you a(n) (Oregon State) Beaver?", I asked.

"Why do you ask?" said the man.

"I asked because I thought you might know my cousin Bert Babb," I said.

Said the man: "That's interesting because this afternoon Bert and I were at a Board of Directors meeting at the Rancho Las Palmas resort in Rancho Mirage."
