small white sign that says "Nick's Lunch". Below that, the
words on the next sign say "HAMBURGERS", "EAT",
"BOOTH SERVICE".

November 13, 2002 by E-mail To: The Editor of the Farmington Independent Hats off to the Farmington Lions Club for funding the placement of a clock at the corner of Third and Oak. (the Farmington Independent's cover story of October 24th, 2002) When I was growing up in the '50's in Farmington, a large neon sign of the single letter "N" hung from the front of the cafe in the Exchange Bank Building at that location. Even though it was Lisle's Cafe at the time, our family knew that the "N" had stood for "Nick's" from the time my Uncle Nick Feipel owned the restaurant beginning in the '20s. My grandmother Mary B. Feipel was the chief cook and baked dozens of apple pies each day. The main customers were the railroad workers and crews stopping at the station just one block west at the end of Oak Street.
