(The following is extracted from it's official web site)
The Little Log House Pioneer Village began with a little log house which Steve and Sylvia Bauer hoped would be used as a cabin somewhere. The first building for the village was found by Steve only five miles away from its present site. The building dated back to 1856-57. Steve and Sylvia placed the building in the woods near their home. Sylvia decorated the log cabin to appear as original as possible with different items from the buildings era. Then, the Bauer's hosted an old-time threshing bee complete with a picnic. They invited friends and neighbors to the Sunday afternoon event. This event is where it all started and the event has grown over the years. Now, the Little Log House Pioneer Village has some forty-five buildings covering nearly forty acres of the 180 acre site. Each year, the Bauer's host a three day event for thousands of families who come to view a piece of yesteryear. Steve remembers riding on the Belgian horse team when he was young back when threshing bees were held. He has been successful in keeping the old methods alive.

The Little Log House Pioneer Village includes a butcher shop, livery stable, general store, blacksmith shop, gristmill, saloon, church, millinery, and a post office to name a few of the buildings. Each building on the site has its own heritage. Most of the buildings have come from Dakota and Goodhue counties. Sylvia's beautiful flower gardens provide an element of something for everyone to enjoy.

The St. Boniface Church, formerly located in Hastings, Minnesota, is another masterpiece that has been created in the Little Log House Pioneer Village. The building, which dates back to 1892, was dismantled and restored to two-thirds scale in 1996. The interior of the church was finished in 1997.

Probably one of the most significant accomplishments of the Little Log House Pioneer Village is the scale model of the Hastings Spiral Bridge that once spanned the great Mississippi river. The scale model is significantly narrower than the original bridge at fourteen feet wide. The bridge is complete with its own replica of the Mississippi river which flows beneath this beautiful masterpiece. A grain elevator and park were added to the bridge setting to accurately represent the original landscape. Carriage and Antique Car rides are taken across the bridge.
